Journey to the centre of American politics and economics

What’s it like to study at a top American university? And in the US capital? In this year 4 summer programme, you’ll experience the American educational methodology in one of the world’s most important cities – Washington, D.C. – while studying at an internationally renowned university, the alma mater of countless political and business leaders.

What are classes at an American university like?

For several weeks, the summer programme will immerse you in the American education system, also known as the Socratic method or case method. At US universities, classes are mainly intended for debate and discussion of case studies assigned by the professor. Students are therefore expected to study the theoretical content beforehand. For example, if a case study involves the IPO of a company such as Facebook, students are expected to research the various possible IPO options and strategies and find out which one was chosen by Facebook. The students must do this research beforehand and come to class ready to debate and share opinions.

This experience is especially recommended for students planning to do a semester abroad at a US university, as it will give them experience with the American education system.
